The detained driver of the shuttle bus which got into a car accident in Zhytomyr region was served with charge papers, as Tetyana Gosha, Zhytomyr Prosecutor’s Office Spokesperson, informed 112 Ukraine.
“Yesterday (July 21) bus’s owner was informed about suspicion in committing a crime, provided by the article of Ukraine’s Criminal Code on releasing for service the malfunctioning vehicles or violation of its exploitation,” Gosha noted.
She added that the investigation defined that the bus’s owner did not provide the technical state of the vehicle and its equipment with a condition which would comply with regulatory requirements of road-traffic safety and maintenance regulations. Besides, the owner allowed the driver who was in a fatigued state to drive.
Now, a decision is pending about what measure of restraint is to be applied.
reportedly, a shuttle bus and a truck crashed on the Kyiv-Chop highway near Zhytomyr region. As a result of the accident, ten people died and the same number of people injured. The Police claimed that a child and the driver of the bus are among the dead. Moreover, a citizen of Georgia and two citizens of Russia are among the dead. The driver of the truck is giving testimony.
As of July 21, the Condition of nine victims is stabilized.
