Vasyl Soroka, the wounded Ukrainian sailor who sustained the injury in the attack on Ukrainian seamen in Kerch Strait last November, is now recovering. Serhiy Badamshyn, the lawyer, said that the swelling on his injured hand disappeared, and the wounds have healed. On the other hand, Soroka will still have to wear a cast.
Last month, Soroka underwent surgery on his hand, as there were shell fragments in it; he suffered swelling and nerve damage because of that trauma.
The wounded sailor now will be able to get the letters from his family. Another four Ukrainian sailors underwent psychiatric expertise, without the consent of lawyers.
24 Ukrainian seamen were attacked and captured in the Kerch Strait in November 2018. Russian special service agents detained them and took them to Russia. Three seamen, including Soroka were wounded in the attack.
