The works on the equipment of the border with Russian within Wall project were renewed in Ukraine on March 1, 2019, as UNN reported citing Oleg Slodobyan, the Assistant Head of the State Border Guard Service.
“On March 1 on the parts of the area, where it is possible due to the weather conditions and soil condition, the works on the engineering and technical installation of the Russian-Ukrainian state border were renewed. Now, we succeeded to work on the area in Luhansk region,” he reported.
At the moment, the contractors hold the preparation works for the building of the lateral communication routes and fences as well as the anti-vehicle moats.
“The project for the research works takes place. 500 meters of the anti-vehicle moats, 120 meters of the a chain-link fence, 1,200 meters of the road for the equipment of the lateral communication routes were prepared,” Slobodyan said.
The works on the creation of the video surveillance and control have begun in Kharkiv region, Zolochevsky area.
“It is planned to allocate $14.8 million in 2019. It is also planned to deploy enough video-control complexes and alarm; install 50 km of the anti-vehicle moats, 9,5 km of the a chain-link fence, almost 48 km of the concertina-wire fence, pave 65,8 km of the lateral communication routes, equip 40 crossings across the routes through difficult parts (gullies, ditch and so on), fulfill works on the reconstruction of the rooms for the detachments for the border guards at three objects and number of other important works,” the message said.
As we reported Ukraine intends to begin the sectoral project in the sphere of the integrated border management along with the international partners. The project will cost about 60 million euro.
Besides, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine created a budget institution Izmail Maritime Border Guard base of Ukraine’s Border Guard Service.
