Militants of Donbas returned the body of the Ukrainian defender who died on February 12 during the fulfilling of the combat mission. This was reported by the press center Ukraine’s Army HQ in Facebook.
It is noted that representatives of the humanitarian project of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Evacuation 200" held long and complicated negotiations on this issue.
The transfer of the body of the deceased serviceman to the territory controlled by Ukraine took place in the vicinity of Shchastia village with the participation of representatives of the Union of Afghan Veterans of Luhansk Region, OSCE and the Ukrainian side of the JCCC.
The soldier died as a result of mortar shelling, after which his body was seized by illegal armed formations.
"For three days, the militants changed the time of the transfer of the body of defender, looking for the benefits to conduct cynical information actions," the report said.
As it was reported earlier there is a lot of evidence of Russian involvement in the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine. Alexander Vershbow, the former Assistant Secretary General of NATO said that in a recent interview.
According to him, the war in eastern Ukraine would have been over for a long time if Russia ceased to supply weapons to militants. 'There are many tanks without Russian insignia, but we all are aware where they come from... The conflict has been lasting for more than four years now - mainly due to the lasting Russian aggression,' he said.
