Ukraine has agreed to provide special status to the occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. This was stated by US Vice-President Joseph Biden on the air of "Voice of America".

Biden also expressed confidence that Ukraine will fulfill its commitments.

"When you say that Donbas should receive special status and are going to set it in the Constitution, it is as if to say:"Okay, Texas will have a special status, because we would like to see Mexico has more influence in Texas, and we're going carry it out through the US Congress.

This is a very difficult step they agreed to take. I am convinced that they will do it, but our goal is to do everything possible so that when Ukraine makes a mistake (as they have made  them), Europe could not say that all this does not work because of Ukraine ", - said Biden.
