There is certain difference between the actual disengagement area in Donbas and the one defined by Minsk agreements. Roman Bezsmertny, the Ukrainian diplomat and the ex-representative of this country in the Minsk trilateral contact group, said this to 112 Ukraine TV channel.

‘If one reads Minsk I and Minsk II documents carefully, he’d see that the lines of disengagement do not match. Debaltseve is merely one of such places where they don’t match. Why would they raise this issue now? Because Ukraine was the first to raise this issue on Minsk, and it insisted that the border should be controlled as mentioned in the documents. Ukraine can and will raise questions on other points of disengagement – just like Russia will. There are more areas that don’t match, so the discussion will continue,’ Bezsmertny said.
