Donetsk filtration plant blacked out due to shelling

As a result of shelling, Avdiivka is left without water, electricity and heat. This was reported on Facebook by Pavlo Zhebrivskyi, the governor of Donetsk oblast.

“Russia-backed militants have just killed the power line to Avdiivka. The filtration plant (Donetsk filtration plant – 112 International) and coke plant (Avdiivka coke plant – 112 International), which provided heat for Avdiivka, are now de-energized. The city is left without water, electricity and heat,” Zhebrivskyi stressed.

CEO of the enterprise also reported that the Avdiivka coke plant, which provides the city with heat and hot water, is totally off-the-line, according to “Minprom” agency.

“The plant is totally dead. Starting temporary shutdown,” Musa Magomedov wrote on his Facebook page.

As it was reported earlier, gunmen fired at Avdiivka industrial zone with small guns and mortars in the early morning of January 29, then assaulted the positions of the Ukrainian military, Armed Forces suffered casualties.
