A 57-year-old resident of Avdiivka, Donetsk region heard the sentence in his case. The man, charged with adjusting fire for pro-Russian militants of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic, is sentenced to six years in prison. Donetsk region prosecutor’s office reported this on January 27.

The investigation found out that in July and August 2015, the local resident passed the coordinates of positions and movement routes of the Ukrainian troops that fought in Avdiivka. The man also adjusted fire during the artillery strikes landed on Ukrainian positions.

The SBU, Ukraine’s security service, detained the criminal, and handed him over to the investigation group, which proved his guilt under the respective article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
