Another Ukrainian citizen went missing in Belarus - Belarusian special services detained the head of the Public Joint Stock Company "Plant weighting" (Donetsk region). This was stated in a letter to the Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Ihor Kyzym from November 16, informs LB.ua.
In the address signed by the board chairman of the plant O.Kozmenko, it is alleged that the director of PJSC " Plant weighting" Oleksandr Skyba (born on May 7, 1978) arrived in Minsk on November 15 on a business trip for negotiations with OJSC “Minsk Tractor plant". It has an agreement with the Ukrainian company on deliveries of products, which is used in foundry production of the Belarusian plant.
According to the agency, Skyba flew from Kyiv to Minsk on November 15 at 14:20 and arrived there at 16:15 on the same day according to local time. He later at 19:20 contacted and said that he was about to return home the same day.
However, the next time, O. Skyba called in the morning his wife from another Belarusian number and reported that he was detained by Belarusian KGB officers.
"In an effort to find out the fate of our employee, I contacted the Belarusian KGB Operational On-Line Officer in Minsk with an inquiry on detention of our employee by telephone found on the Internet. A man who introduced himself as a deputy watch officer confirmed the detention of our employee at this institution," the letter said.
At the same time, the representative of the KGB of Belarus did not report the circumstances and the purpose of the detention, promising to call back if such a necessity arises.
As it was reported earlier Pavlo Sharoyko, a reporter for Ukrainian Radio, was detained in Belarus, as CEO of National Television Company of Ukraine Zurab Alasania wrote on Facebook.
He says the Embassy of Belarus evades the inquiries into the matter. “According to our unofficial information in Belarus, he faces the standard accusation for foreign reporters – espionage,” he wrote.
Vasyl Kyrylych, the Head of Department of Consular Support confirmed the information on the detention of Pavlo Sharoyko, the journalist of the Ukrainian radio. According to Kyrylych, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine assumes measures to protect the rights of the detained citizen of Ukraine. Ihor Kyzym, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus added that the Embassy of Ukraine sent a note to the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.
