The regional court in Pilsen recognized guilty a citizen of Karlovy Vary Region, 27-year-old Lukáš Nováček. The court considered as proved his involvement in the terrorist attack and active participation in the activity of the organized crime group.
The sentence has not come in force yet. The accused person denies his participation in the battles and he will file the appeal.
According to the materials of the case, Lukáš Nováček came to Donbas in July 2015. He stated to get acquainted with a girl with name Natasha on social networks and she started to convince him to enter the so-called army of Novorossiya.
Lukáš Nováček stated that he “did not want to risk his life and agreed to help in the kitchen”. Nevertheless, the prosecution has photos and videos from Nováček’s phone on which he wears the uniform of militants with large-caliber weapons.
In one of the videos made in the demilitarized zone near the former airport in Donetsk, the Czech citizen explains his presence in Donetsk in broken Russian. He states he “would like to fight the Ukrainian fascist” and he “was ashamed of what Ukrainians do to civilians”.
A few witnesses provided testimony against a man. They stated that the defendant reported his deliberate participation in the combat actions. Nováček stated he was “just boasting”.
The medical documentation is also attached to the case and it shows that the appealed to the doctors with mental disorders after the fights in the Ukrainian territory. The court considered it to be another evidence of Lukáš Nováček’s guilt.
As we reported, on September 8, Russian mercenaries broke the ceasefire four times. As a result of the attacks, two members of the Joint Forces received shrapnel wounds. Besides, two civilians sustained injuries.
