According to the materials of the case, Lukáš Nováček came to Donbas in July 2015. He stated to get acquainted with a girl with name Natasha on social networks and she started to convince him to enter the so-called army of Novorossiya.

Lukáš Nováček stated that he “did not want to risk his life and agreed to help in the kitchen”. Nevertheless, the prosecution has photos and videos from Nováček’s phone on which he wears the uniform of militants with large-caliber weapons.

In one of the videos made in the demilitarized zone near the former airport in Donetsk, the Czech citizen explains his presence in Donetsk in broken Russian. He states he “would like to fight the Ukrainian fascist” and he “was ashamed of what Ukrainians do to civilians”.

As we reported, on September 8, Russian mercenaries broke the ceasefire four times. As a result of the attacks, two members of the Joint Forces received shrapnel wounds. Besides, two civilians sustained injuries.
