“The inflow of water to reservoirs of natural flow in May has significantly decreased and in million cubic meters it made: Bilohorske – 2.83, Simferopolske – 0.534, Shchastlyve – 0.718, Chornorichenske – 2.19,” the message said.
Meanwhile, the total reserves of water in the reservoirs made 79.24 million cubic meters as of the beginning of summer and it by 6.531 million cubic meters less than a month ago and by 5.92 million cubic meters less than a year ago.
The service also reported that due to the absence of the runoff producing precipitations after the third winter with little snow on the peninsula, the situation repeats that occurred the last year. In the majority of the village rivers in the neighborhood of Alushta, Sudak and Feodosiya, the drying out preserves.
According to the Water Services, last month, only 7% of precipitations out of 35% norm fell in the river basins; the fewer precipitations are observed in the basins of Kacha, Belbek, Chorna and Salhyr rivers.
In early March, about a dozen water storages in the annexed Crimea went dry, two of them - Simferopolske and Zahorske are completely exhausted. The latter was a source of drinking water for Yalta and Bakhchisaray district for years.
Earlier, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko stated that there are enough water resources for domestic use in the occupied Crimea, but the situation has worsened due to the massive militarization of the peninsula occupied by Russia.
