Impunity for violations related to the detention, in the context of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine on the part of the Ukrainian authorities, as well as on side of the Russian-supported separatists, continues to take place. This was reported in a statement of the Amnesty International Ukraine organization.

The document states that Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch repeatedly urged both sides to put an end to this situation, to stop all willful and secret detention, ill-treatment of detainees and make sure that perpetrators were brought to justice.

The organization recalls that since the previous report in July relative to the situation, 18 people were freed out of the secret detention in Kharkiv SBU.
