Republican senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham and Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar after the visit to Ukraine went to Georgia, where 1 January said they would demand from Congress the adoption of more stringent sanctions against Russia and its President Vladimir Putin, according to Radio Liberty.

The time has come for new sanctions, that would be hard both for him personally and Russian energetic and banking sector..", said in Tbilisi on Sunday Republican senator from South Carolina Lindsey Graham.
Graham together with John McCain (Republican Senator from Arizona) and Amy Klobuchar (Democratic senator from Minnesota) arrived with two-day visit to Tbilisi.
"We urge our colleagues to take more meaningful and severe sanctions against Russia for its hacker attacks on the United States," - said John McCain, adding that there is "clear evidence" of Russian intervention in electronic resources of the United States Democratic Party.
Earlier US Senator John McCain said that Ukraine will be able to return its lands in 2017 year.
"I saw that the cooperation between our two countries is important for the safety of Ukraine's borders. In 2017, we will defeat the invaders and send them back to where they came from. And Putin, I want to say that he would never be able to deprive Ukrainians of freedom and independence" - McCain said.
