The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine claims that the amount of non-battle-related deaths during the Anti-Terrorist Operation is 927 servicemen. The press-office of the General Staff informs about it, Ukrainian News reports.
“There were 927 non-battle-related losses among Armed Forces servicemen in Anti-Terrorist Operation,” the message says.
The General Staff refused to give the information about the number of suicides among servicemen in the Donbas conflict zone.
“In compliance with the requirements of law of Ukraine on State secret and the order of the Security Service of Ukraine (on approval of information on state secret), information about suicides among the staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces is relate to the information about moral and psychological condition of the staff of military units or troops (forces) appliance, which allows to determine their fighting capacity,” the message says.
Representatives of the General Staff stressed that the requested information has limited access and cannot be revealed.
As we reported earlier, the number of non-battle-related losses of Armed Forces was 22 servicemen in January 2018.
