9, 000 km2 of the occupied Donbas is contaminated with the explosive hazards. Maksym Komissarov, the Head of Environmental Security and Anti-Mine Activities Department claimed as reported.

Since 2014, 26, 000 hectares of the territory controlled by Ukraine were cleared and 346, 000 explosive hazards were eliminated.

Earlier UN reported that Donbas is one of the most mined regions in the world and Ukraine ranked first in the world in terms of the number of deaths from mines. In his turn, the Minister of Temporary Occupied Territories Vadym Chernysh asserts that before the end of hostilities in the Donbas region, it is meaningless to take measures to demine the territory.
