85 people died and 384 were wounded during 2017 in Donbas due to the armed conflict. Alexander Hug, the Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE SMM to Ukraine claimed this as 112.ua reported.
Hug noted that there is also the observer of the OSCE SMM among the perished, he died in Luhansk region.
'I want to remind about the victims of the conflict. 85 people died and 384 were wounded in 2017, including Joseph Stone, our colleague who died on April 23 in the result of the explosion of the mine near Prishib', Hug claimed.
As 112 International reported, the SMM OSCE’s vehicle went on a land mine nearby the Prishib village, Luhansk region on April 23. One of the OSCE’s monitors perished in the accident and another two were hurt. According to the Ukrainian side of JCCC, during the mentioned period the cease-fire regime was observed by both the Ukrainian government troops and the Russia-backed militants.
