The Russian Government can pass a bill that recognizes the detained person as the political prisoner. In this case, about 60 Ukrainians detained in Russia will become political prisoners. Vadym Chernysh, the Minister on issues of Occupied Territories and IDPs reported this according to Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the Minister, the department already directed a request to allocate funding for social benefits of the political prisoners to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. Moreover, the sums are not large for the state budget.

Moreover, the Minister noted that he expects that Parliament will pass a worked out bill that recognizes the political prisoners and social benefits for them.

‘We will gather the task group, hear all motions, implement them and I think that the bill can be introduced at the next session of the Parliament’, he said.
