Situation in Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone remains tense. Russia-backed militants attacked positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces 50 times over past day, they were also using heavy weapons banned by Minsk agreement. One Ukrainian soldier was reported wounded, according to ATO HQ on Facebook.
Most of the attacks were recorded in Mariupol direction. 122 mm artillery and 120 mm mortars were used to attack Shyrokyne, Hnutove and Vodiane. Enemy fired 122 mm artillery systems at Pavlopil, used 120 and 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers and machine guns to attack Vodiane. Russia-backed terrorist forces were also using anti-aircraft guns ZU-23-2, IFV weaponry, grenade launchers of various types and heavy machine guns near Shyrokyne. Enemy snipers were active at Novotroitske.
Marinka entry-exit checkpoint was attacked from small arms.
In Donetsk direction, the hottest spots were Luhanske, Troitske and Zaytseve where enemy fired 82 mm mortars. Enemy fired IFV weaponry and heavy machine guns at Butivka mine and Luhanske, grenade launchers were used to attack Avdiivka and Verkhnyotoretske. Snipers were firing in Avdiivka and Novotroitske.
In Luhansk direction, Russia-backed terrorist forces attacked Ukrainian position near Krymske using 120 and 82 mm mortars and heavy machine guns. 120 mm mortars were fired near Verkhnyotoretske.
Ukrainian military officers opened return fire in order to suppress enemy’s activity.
