46 citizens were evacuated from the unsafe grey area near Mayorsk checkpoint, Donetsk region. This step was necessary, as the lives of civilians were in grave danger due to a provocation by the Russian occupants. Pavlo Lysiansky, the representative of the Envoy for Human Rights in Donetsk and Luhansk regions posted that on Facebook.
The Russian occupants let people outside the checkpoint near Mayorsk, 10 minutes before the Ukrainian checkpoint was closed.
'46 people were evacuated from the grey area, by the decision of the Joint Forces Operation Commanding Officer Serhiy Nayev; they are currently undergoing the entry procedure at Mayorsk checkpoint', the message said.
'The occupants' provocation failed once again', Lysiansky wrote.
Earlier, we reported that militants of the terrorist group 'DNR' (Donetsk People's Republic, - 112 International) held the combat drills in the safety zone in Donbas. The Joint Forces Operation HQ posted this on Facebook, referring to the OSCE SMM report.
'On February 12, members of the OSCE SMM were patrolling the northwestern area of Donetsk region not far from Sofiivka (non-controlled by the Ukrainian government); they spotted ten explosions and found three T-72 tanks at about 2-3 kilometers away from their positions. By the estimates of the observers, these were the drills conducted within the safety zone', the HQ reported.
