45 criminals who tortured Ukrainian prisoners in Donetsk prison identified, - minister

Ukrainian law enforcers identified 45 members of the criminal group that tortured Ukrainian prisoners in Donetsk prison called "Izolyatsia". Denys Monastyrsky, the Healthcare Minister reported that on his Facebook page.

"When the inmates from Izolyatsia returned to Ukraine, the police talked to every victim of militants. Do you know what they did to them? They were electrocuted through their genitals. They were put in coffins and had nails hammered in these coffins. They were raped. They had their bones broken. They were taken on a simulated shootouts. And a lot of other scary things", the minister wrote.

He added that the police eventually identified 45 culprits involved in these crimes. In September, materials against eight war criminals were handed over to the court for trial in absentia.

"Regardless how much time passes, these horrible crimes won't be left unpunished", Monastyrsky concluded.

On November 9, Ukrainian law enforcers detained the chief of Izolyatsia prison, Denys Kulykovsky. According to the SBU, Security Service of Ukraine, he was directly involved in murders and tortures of illegally captured Ukrainian citizens.
