There are 34 thousand Ukraine’s Armed Forces soldiers in the ATO area at the moment. A hundred of servicemen were killed during this year. This was announced by Ukraine’s Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"Today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are fully prepared that the situation can change, we adequately respond to the threats that we have.Today we have a certain number of people, 34 thousand in the zone ATO, performing combat missions, we have reserves in training centers, where the rehabilitation of our brigades is underway, their training is underway .. According to the legislative basis, the Armed Forces has fulfilled carry out now and will carry out the laws adopted by the parliament ... This year, a hundred of our people were killed," the Minister of Defense said.

Earlier it was reported that Defense Minister stands for stepping up Ukraine-France military cooperation. Stepan Poltorak met with the Defense Minister of France Sylvie Goulard. During the meeting, the parties discussed security issues in Ukraine and around hoe borders and also the questions of deepening the defense cooperation between the countries.

At the same time, the press service of the Defense Ministry later specified to the Interfax-Ukraine agency that about 120 military personnel have been killed in the ATO zone since the beginning of 2017.

"Since January 1, 2017, and up to now, the irreversible military loss of ATO forces is at least 121 servicemen, of which 117 are servicemen of the Armed Forces of the country," the defense department informed.
