As a result of militants' shelling, the water supply was damaged in the Luhansk region. It is reported by the press service of the National Police of the region.

“Today, a 38-year-old local resident reported to the Popasnyansky police department that the water line was probably damaged in the Kim Street area. 3,312 inhabitants were left without water supply,” the message said.

Reportedly, the police found a hole that is similar to a funnel from a shell explosion on the scene.

Officers of the local police department investigative team are walking on the scene. Upon completion of the inspection, the repair brigades will begin work on the restoration of the water supply.

Escalation of hostilities in Donbas threatens access to drinking water and maintaining proper sanitation for 3.2 million people, including 500 000 children.

Earlier, Trilateral contact group (TCG) came to an agreement about the beginning of mine clearance of the adjoining territories of Stanytsia Luhanska bridge. This was reported by press secretary of the TCG leader Darka Olifer on her Facebook.

“The Ukrainian side gave its suggestions relating to the bridge reconstruction in Stanytsia Luhanska. The reached agreements about mine clearance of the adjoining territories to the bridge would start from tomorrow. Before the start the checkpoint and symbols of ORDLO illegal military formations should be removed, the following restoration of fortification buildings in Stanytsia Luhanska region has to be simultaneous and clear,” Olifer wrote.
