“Since the implementation of the Minsk agreements, 2,911 people were freed from military captivity. During all the negotiations with Russia in Normandy format each time I have raised this issue and our EU partners rigidly supported us, represented by the French president and the German chancellor,” stated President Poroshenko in his latest interview.

There are 156 Ukrainians kept in captivity, according to the President’s envoy for his Peace plan for Eastern Ukraine Iryna Herashchenko. About 100 of them are our soldiers and volunteer battalions' fighters. 50 of them are civilians; some of them are volunteers, journalists, doctors, etc.

Poroshenko also said he did not intend to exercise any pressure on MPs in issue of the constitutional amendments concerning decentralization. Constitutional reforms aimed at decentralization means fulfilment all the commitments under the Minsk peace agreements. The deal describes decentralization of particular districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
