109 people were wounded, 29 died in the result of the combat actions in Donbas since the beginning of 2018. Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug during the briefing as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“We confirmed the detentions of nine civilians during the last week. Thus, 109 people were wounded, 29 died in Donbas since the beginning of 2018,” Hug said.
Hug noted that the observers spotted 9, 000 ceasefire violations only during the last week and 846, 649 cases since September 2015.
“Last week the violence from which Ukraine suffered did not stop. The observers spotted about 9, 000 cases of the ceasefire regime violations. Totally, there were 846, 649 cases spotted since September 2015. 846, 000 bullets, mortar shells and artillery shells were launched, a lot of them at the residential areas or near them. In many cases, they were launched from the weapons that should be withdrawn according to the Minsk Agreements. Obviously it was not done,” Hug reported.
Earlier UN reported that at least 2, 523 civilians died since the beginning of the armed Donbas Conflict (April 14, 2014 – November 15, 2017). According to the information, there are 1399 men, 837 women, 91 boys, 47 girls and 149 unidentified people among the perished. Also, 298 civilians that died in the result of the MH17 plane crash were included in this list.
Also, the UN reported on 161 victims of armed conflict among the civilian population: 26 people were killed and 135 people were wounded (a little more than a half of all cases are related to shelling).
