27 civilians died and 62 got wounds of varying severity due to the blowing up by the mines or blind shells in Donbas in 2017. The press service of OSCE SMM reported this.

‘The presence of mines and blind shells put the civilians’ lives at threat and the lives of their children, make the free movement impossible and worsen the conditions of life’, the message said.

The access of the SMM observers to Pikuzy and Shchastya is still restricted due to the fact that the Ukrainian and Russian sides do not extract the mines that were installed by them.
