Since April 2014, the armed conflict in Donbas took lives of 240 children. Pavlo Klimkin, Ukraine's foreign minister posted this on Twitter.
'About 200,000 children live along the division line in Donbas; 15,000 reside in the area, located five kilometers from the division line. Every one of them is exposed to danger every day and needs protection. I urge the international community to increase the pressure on Russia so that it puts an end to the war against Ukraine; it already claimed lives of 240 children by now,' he said.
Previously, the UN reported that about 3,000 civilians lost their lives in the armed hostilities in eastern Ukraine. That number includes the MH17 victims, who deceased in the plane crash in Donetsk region in July 2014.
