Ukrainian soldier hoisted on an unidentified explosive device in Joint Forces Operation zone, as Dmytro Hutsulyak, Defence Ministry Speaker, said at the briefing in Defence Ministry, reports.

“As at 9:00 one of our soldiers was injured today. He hoisted on an unidentified explosive device, the details of the incident are being determined. His health condition is critical,” he stated.

Besides, the Spokesperson added that in total 11 attacks were performed by the militants over the past 24 hours.

In particular, the militants used artillery, mortar launchers, small arms of various types and calibres and grenade launchers in Luhansk sector. The shootings were performed near Zalizne, Novozvanivka and Popasna.

At the same time, as Hutsulyak said, it was relatively quiet in Donetsk sector. The militants were attacking the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine within 20 minutes near Shyrokyne from small arms at around 2 o’clock at night. The situation changed at dawn – the enemy performed three attacks using 120- and 82-mm mortar launchers and infantry fighting vehicle near Avdiivka.

As it was reported, the militants fired at the Armed Forces positions 43 times on the demarcation line on May 18. No casualties reported.
