24 hours in Donbas: Ukrainian serviceman killed in action

Since the beginning of the day, Russian occupants opened fire in Donbas once. Press office of Ukraine's Defense Ministry reported that on Tuesday evening.

In the vicinities of Nevelske, Donetsk region, the enemy opened fire from 82 mm mortars, heavy machine guns and stationary grenade launchers. 

As we reported, one Ukrainian warrior was fatally injured in the attack. Besides, another serviceman sustained fatal wounds due to the explosion; his car ran over the undifentified explosive item.

Ukrainian warriors opened fire in return. The Ukrainian side of the Joint Control and Coordination Centre notified the OSCE of ceasefire violations.

Earlier, we reported that during the period from 2004 from 2020, the U.S. government sent Ukraine 68 million dollars for the purpose of destruction of old small arms, light weaponry and ammunition, and the clearance of combat area on its territory. According to the estimates of NSPA (NATO Agency for Procurement and Support), in 2005, Ukraine stored up to seven million of small arms and light weapons, and up to two million tons of ammunition in 80 storage sites.
