Since 7 a.m. till 6 p.m. Thursday, pro-Kremlin militants attacked Ukrainian positions six times. Two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in action, the HQ of the Joint Forces Operation said.
In Donetsk region, the enemy attacked Avdiivka, Opytne, Pavlopol, Talakivka and Lebedynske, using RPGs, large-caliber machineguns and small arms. Besides, in Pavlopol, militants used an IFV and 82 mm mortar.
One Russian mercenary was killed in combat; another two were wounded.
On Tuesday, the enemy launched 20 attacks on the emplacements of government troops, the press service of the Joint Forces Operation reported. The enemy used mostly RPGs, heavy machine guns and small arms. In Luhansk region, skirmishes occurred in Krymske, Orikhove and Novoluhanske; in Donetsk region, militants attacked positions near Opytne and Avdiivka. The most intense combat situation was observed in Mariupol sector, where Vodyane, Lebeydnske, Shyrokyne, Hnutove, Pavlopol and Bohdanivka came under fire.
It is noteworthy that US Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker said Tuesday that Ukraine had the right to open fire on its territory. He noted this in the interview commenting on the OSCE SMM reports stating that both militants and Ukrainian Armed Forces were shelling in Donbas conflict area.
