On March 19, Russian mercenaries landed four attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas combat area. That, in particular, included the use of Minsk-banned weaponry, the HQ of the Joint Forces Operation reported.
The illegal armed units opened fire from heavy machine guns in Mariinka, Donetsk region. They also used grenade launchers, as well as 82 and 120 mm mortars in the attacks on Novoluhanske and Novooleksandrivka, Luhansk region.
As we reported earlier, Yevhen Kerychanyn, the soldier of the 54th Motorized Brigade of Ukraine's Armed Forces deceased in combat in Donbas. The press office of the HQ of the Joint Forces Operation reported that on Facebook.
Kerychanyn, born in Sumy region, northern Ukraine, was on guard before the fight began at about 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The HQ stated that the serviceman was repelling the enemy attack, as Russian occupants tried flanking the outpost of Ukrainian forces in Luhansk region. 'His sharp shots made the enemy stop and retreat. Meanwhile, the enemy sniper was shooting, using the cover of machine gun fire. Due to that, Yevhen sustained lethal injuries. Yevhen Kerychanyn was posthumously awarded for his courage', the HQ reported.
There has been no information on the time and place of the funeral ceremony over the deceased soldier.
