On April 11, the Russian occupants launched 11 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian government forces in the war-torn Donbas. In four cases, the enemy used Minsk-banned heavy weaponry.
The list of used weapons included anti-tank missile launchers, mortars, IFVs, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.
In Donetsk region, the armed gangs attacked Novoselivka, Pavlopol, Avdiivka, Lebedynske, Novotroitske and Vodyane. In Luhansk region, the enemy shelled positions of Ukrainian troops near Katerynivka.
Eight soldiers of the Ukrainian military sustained combat wounds in action. As of 11 p.m. April 11, the enemy casualties are being specified.
Oleksandr Turchynov, the Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council stated that Russia was preparing to a large-scale war in Europe, where Ukraine would become the first foothold.
“Russia is not just investing billions of resources in the military infrastructure, it is preparing to a large-scale military action, a large-scale continental war in Europe. Our state is the first foothold which they will try to get,” Turchynov said.
According to him, it is necessary to prepare to the fact that sooner or later Russia will start using its potential in a large-scale war.
“Such significant aspect of the security as strong Ukrainian army, strong security and defence aspect is one of the most important things for protection of peace and security in Europe,” Turchynov said.
