Over three months, from August 16 to November 15, 14 civilians died in combat actions in eastern Ukraine. 36 more were injured, as Fiona Frazer, the Head of UN Monitoring Mission, said during the presentation of the 24th report, 112.ua reported.
As the Monitoring Commission noted, the number of victims decreased by 50% compared with the previous reporting period.
“During the period from August 16 to November 15, the Monitoring Commission recorded 50 victims among the civilians (14 died and 36 wounded), which is by 50% less compared with the previous reporting period. Two consistent agreement on restoration of ceasefire influenced that,” Fiona Freyzer noted.
Over 3,000 civilians died in eastern Ukraine since Donbas war began. 7,000-9,000 civilians sustained injuries.
December 17, Russian-backed militants violated ceasefire 16 times. On December 15 one Ukrainian soldier died in the enemy’s attack. Over 2900 Ukrainian servicemen died in Donbas since the beginning of combat actions.
