As stated the head of the project Mustafa Sait-Ametov, Japanese government is funding the project, and UNDP in Ukraine will implement it. It is stated that UNDP and Japan are also planning to assist the local organizations that support the development of small and medium-sized businesses of the region, said RBC-Ukraine
“We intent restore the economic infrastructure and help the authorities in creating positive business conditions in the region. A grant program is prepared for the business of the two regions: to support those who are going to open a new business or to develop an existing one. In addition, businessmen would attend the training programs and get legal advice,” said Mustafa Sait-Ametov.
During a videoconference with participants of the event the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine Gennady Chyzhykov expressed his gratitude to UNDP and Japan for their assistance, noting that local business really needs support in entering the European markets.
The restoration of Donbas infrastructure is really at the proper time now. As reported by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UN eastern Ukraine houses 20% houses of internally displaced families are destroyed or damaged.
The Ministry of Social Policy reported that as of July 6 there were 1.369 mln 844 registered IDPs from Donbas and Crimea.
According to the latest UN data, the number of victims of the Donbas conflict reached 6500 people, another 16,000 were wounded.
