The General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) adopted a resolution calling for an immediate end to military action in Syria. It was reported by Reuters.

This resolution was adopted by 122 votes on Friday. It also emphasizes the need for humanitarian access across the country and the end of the siege, including Aleppo.

36 countries abstained in the vote. Resolutions of the General Assembly are not binding, but can carry political weight.
