US Senator from Texas Ted Cruz offered to stop funding the UN after anti-Israel Security Council resolution. He wrote this on his Twitter page, Washington Examiner reports.

The report says that Cruz telephoned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night and assured him of strong support in Congress. Cruz also congratulated him on Chanukah.

"No US $ for UN until reversed," he added.

Cruz said that together with Senator Lindsey Graham and US President-elect Donald Trump they will work to "significantly reduce or even eliminate US funding for the UN, as well as to seriously reconsider financial support for those countries that supported the resolution."

According to Senator Cruz, United Nations Security Council resolution on the Israeli settlement policy does not correspond to US foreign policy settings.

With regard to the fact that US official declined to exercise veto during the voting, Cruise said: "All the officials and diplomats who participated in this process and supporting the resolution, must immediately resign."
