The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) hopes to resume the evacuation of civilians and wounded from the eastern part of Aleppo today. This was reported to Reuters by the spokesperson Elodie Schindler.

"We are ready to resume the evacuation of people from the eastern Aleppo, I hope it will happen this morning," she said.

Previously, the ICRC called on the parties to the conflict to quickly agree on a plan to provide "firm" security guarantees for carrying out the evacuation.

Yesterday, on December 17, the Syrian opposition announced a new agreement on the evacuation of the eastern part of Aleppo.
