No violations, no scandals, no complaints; a high turnout and a good organization instead. According to information of separatist publications, October 2, the so-called Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LPR and DPR) have held primaries.

In LPR, 117 candidates for "Luhansk City Council" deputies and "mayor" took place in "primaries" or previous public poll. Applicants had to collect 500 signatures of local residents to participate in the elections for the presidency of the occupational "administration." Candidates for deputies had to collect 200 signatures.


On the eve of the vote, "Lugansk 24" TV channel aired a debate between candidates for mayor. Among them were the current "head" of the city Manolis Pilavov, chairman of "United Workers Union of Luhansk" Yuri Ryaplov, chairman of "Youth of the Federation of Trade Unions of LPR" Alexander Ermolenko, chairman of the trade union of factory "Marshal" Vyacheslav Svetlov, head of municipal property of occupational "administration" Anatoly Kolyadintsev. Following the "primaries," 86.1% of voters supported Pilavov.

In the evening of October 2nd, the so-called "Provisional Election Commission" reported on the turnout, which allegedly amounted to over 61 thousand people. "The turnout was 61,323 persons. In the preliminary lists for the vote there were 34 450 people," as noted by the "Commission."

LPR states that 84 observers from 17 countries, including Israel, Palestine, India, Poland, Russia, Chile, and USA were monitoring the preparation for holding the "primaries."

In total, 80 polling stations were opened in Oleksandrivka, Luhansk, and Yuvileyne.

The results of the elections in DPR are already known. According to "Provisional Election Commission," the turnout amounted to 370.517 people.

Residents elected the best candidates for the positions of "Donetsk Mayor" (among five candidates) deputies' councils "(141 candidates for 64 seats), members of "local councils" and "heads" of settlements, administratively subordinated regions of Donetsk, - Aleksandrivka, Andriivka, Olenivka, Larine, Lyubivka, Staromykhailivka, and Mospino.

Among the candidates for "mayor" of Donetsk, was the acting chairman Ihor Martynov, director of "Donelektroavtotrans" Olexiy Kulemzin, General Director of "Mail of Donbass" Artem Serdyukov, director of Donetsk water park Ivan Yovyk and Sergei Molhun.

In total, 1,098 people were on the lists of candidates. DPR claim that more than 20 foreign observers monitored the "voting" in procedure Donetsk.

As reported by the "Provisional Election Commission," acting "mayor of Donetsk" Ihor Martynov scored 83.2% in the previous poll. His opponents scored from 2.6% to 5.4%. Candidates of the public movement "Donetsk Republic" won in 505 constituencies of 514. The leaders of this movement are Zakharchenko and Pushilin.

Candidates from "Free Donbas" gained the most votes in nine districts. The wife of Pavlo Gubarev is in this organization.

In the largest districts of Donetsk, 33 polling stations were opened. Different entertainment programs were prepared for those voters who came with children.

In the central (Voroshilov) district of Donetsk employees of one of the restaurants treated the voters with tea from a samovar, bagels, and fruits.

Ukraine considers the "primaries" as an attempt of the Russian-backed militants to disrupt the Minsk process. First Deputy Speaker Iryna Herashchenko noted that the partners in Normandy format, and the whole world should react on this attempt to disrupt the political group in Minsk.

"Scenario" of the primaries was "developed by Putin’s advisors in the Kremlin, as well as pseudo-elections in November 2014 that disrupted Minsk II and led to thousands of new victims," she said.
