From April 1, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers introduces a monthly payment of 60 USD to large families for the third and subsequent children under the age of 6 years.
According to Minister of Social Policy Andriy Reva, payments are provided for 158,800 children under age of 6. Monthly assistance will be paid from subventions to the local budgets within the framework of the approved budget for the current year. It is approximately 7 million USD per month or 84 million USD annually.
From April 1, snipers and paratroopers, who serve at the front line in Donbas combat area, would receive 850 USD each. The corresponding statement by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko was made in March, just before the elections.
In April, Naftogaz, national oil and gas company of Ukraine will sell gas to the domestic consumers at a price lower than the regulated one - 8.38 UAH (29 cents) per cubic meter instead of 8.55 UAH (30 cents) per cubic meter including VAT and transportation costs.
The company clarified that it would lower the April price for the household consumers in the Kirovohrad region and other regions by 2%, without setting the maximum possible trade margin for the supplier (which is actually allowed by the law).
Thus, the final price of gas for household consumers of Naftogaz company would be 8.38 UAH (29 cents) per cubic meter instead of 8.55 UAH (30 cents), with VAT and the cost of its transportation trunk and distribution pipelines.
From April 1, tariffs for the carriage of goods by rail within Ukraine are indexed by 14.2%. Earlier, the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine has agreed on the indexation of tariffs for freight transportation to the level of last year's producer price index.
Moreover, the rate of state building norms comes into effect, obliging to equip hotels, which are being built or reconstructed, to construct 10% of universal numbers.
April 1, 2019, the ten-year term of the Treaty on Friendship between Ukraine and the Russian Federation ends. The document was signed on May 31, 1997, and entered into force after the exchange of instruments of ratification on April 1, 1999. In October 2008, the contract was automatically extended for the next 10 years – until April 1, 2019. On December 6, 2018, the draft law on termination of the treaty was approved by the Ukrainian parliament.
Four days later, on December 10, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the law “On the termination of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Partnership between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.”
