As a result of the brilliant special operation conducted by Ukrainian law enforcers, the killer who received the order to murder Arkadiy Babchenko and the organizer of the murder were detained.
In order to better document those who ordered and the organizers of the crime - representatives of Russian special services - they had to be assured that the hired killer had successfully completed the order.
Only a very limited circle of people knew that the murder of Arkadiy Babchenko was staged.
This was done to prevent the slightest possibility of information leakage.
For this, law enforcement officers had to resort to a large-scale information security operation.
To do that, the photo of the allegedly murdered Arkadiy Babchenko was made and published as well as the photo-robots of the alleged killer with Caucasian appearance.
To make a realistic picture, the official representatives of the National Police released statements about the death of Arkadiy.
Law enforcers realized that the news of the murder of Arkadiy Babchenko would pain thousands of hearts around the world. But they had no other choice.
In order to trace and document the chain from the killer to the organizers and customers, it was necessary to assure them that the order was executed, and force them to take a number of actions that will be recorded by the investigation.
After all, the hero of Arthur Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes successfully used the method of staging his own death for the effective investigation of complex and intricate crimes. No matter how it may hurt his relatives and friends.
A unique special operation to prevent the murder of Arkadiy Babchenko is an example of effective cooperation between the Security Service and the National Police in the prevention of terrorist acts and political murders.
Unique is also the fact that there was no leakage of information about this special operation either before the staging of the murder or after. This suggests that we have learned to fight on the invisible front with Russian special services.
I thank all honest and brave officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, National Police and the Prosecutor's Office for your contribution to the protection of the national security of Ukraine and for saving the lives of Arkadiy Babchenko, Ihor Bohdanov, my and other targets of Russian saboteurs.
I wish Arkadiy Babchenko health and a long life.
But at the same time, both Arkadiy and all of us must remember the tragic story of Amina Okueva, whose murder we could not prevent...
