The interrogation of ex-president Viktor Yanukovych in Svyatoshyn district court through videoconference is completed. The next video interrogation with the former commander of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Stanislav Shulyak is scheduled for December 2 at 1 p.m.
At last, Yanukovych announced his intention to cooperate with the investigation and trial.
"Svyatoshinsky District Court of Ukraine notes complete fulfillment of the request for international assistance by the Regional Court of the Russian Federation in terms of questioning the witness Viktor Yanukovych, which is considered to be completed," presiding judge declared.
Social media community already started joking about the video conference, claiming that Yanukovych could not be treated seriously after he denied being arrested in the past.
Yanukovych said that the shooting at the Maidan was a planned as a special operation aimed at overthrowing the government in Ukraine.
Yanukovych also stated that he doesn't know whether Berkut Speial Forces and other law enforcers received the orders in the morning on November 20.
There were a lot of questions about his telephone conversations during the events, for example:
- Did you have a telephone talk with Putin on the night of February 18?
- I don’t remember. More likely I didn’t, but I don’t remember.
The sister of a deceased Euromaidan activist asked Yanukovych why he didn’t talk to people on Maidan, why he never came up to Maidan:
“I made appearances in Mass Media, and I met the members of the public. Unfortunately, this information was often blocked in media those days,” he replied. “I am not a saint,” Yanukovych.
In addition, Yanukovych said that he would like to meet with Klytschko, Yatsenyuk and Tyagnybok.
Answering questions about Berkut activity at that time, his response was:
- Did you know what Berkut was going to do on November 20?
- It was a complete surprise for us
