America and Canada agreed on military training missions in Ukraine. This was announced by the Defense Minister of Canada Harjit Sajjan after the meeting with the US Secretary of Defense James Mattis, reports Ukrinform.
“We talked about our training missions in Ukraine and Iraq as well as international coalition work on ISIS fighting,” Sajjan said.
During the negotiations they confirmed support of NATO member states in the Eastern Europe, according to him.
“We also discussed with the U.S. Secretary Mattis multilateral issues, I particular our promises to head military groups on NATO support in the Eastern Ukraine and obligations before the United Nations,” Canada’s Defense Minister said.
He added that had agreed to “tightly cooperate” with the head of the Pentagon.
Earlier it was reported that Canada confirmed support for Ukraine and condemned Russian aggression. Canadians share the pain of Ukrainians "who protect the independence of Ukraine today," Ontario Premier said.
