A Ukrainian climber has reached the top of Everest for the first time on the night of May 20, informed Kharkiv alpinist club.
The 28-year old mountain climber Iryna Galai is from Mukachevo, west Ukraine, but currently lives in Kyiv.
‘I’ve become interested in alpinism three years ago. I had a bet with my co-worker, I lost it and was sent to climb Kazbek (Caucasus). I was the first to reach the top. Since then, I’ve become obsessed with mountain climbing. I work only to be able to afford travelling’, - Galai said.
