Ukraine’s MFA negotiates on visa liberalization with Gibraltar

Such talks are not held with the unrecognized Kosovo

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is negotiating on visa – free regime with Gibraltar. This was stated in the answer of the Department of consular service of the Foreign ministry to the inquiry of European Truth agency.

It is reported that after establishing visa regime with EU, only two areas of continental Europe - British Gibraltar unrecognized by Ukraine Kosovo will keep visa requirements for short trips for citizens of Ukraine.

“Britain has no influence on visa and migration policy, carried out independently by Gibraltar. MFA initiated talks to establish visa travels with Gibraltar for citizens of Ukraine with regard to the relevant decision of the EU", the diplomatic agency stated.”

At the same time, Kyiv will not initiate such negotiations with Kosovo.

Earlier it was reported that visa-free agreement between EU and Ukraine signed in Strasbourg. Antonio Tajani, the President of the European Parliament, Carmelo Abela, the Minister for Home Affairs and National Security of chairing Malta, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Mariya Gabriel, the European Parliament rapporteur on this occasion, took part in the signing ceremony.
