Ukraine to depend on anthracite coal another two years

The possibility of energy import from Russia will not be considered no matter what, - Ukrainian Energy Minister

Ukraine will be able to shake off dependence on anthracite coal mined in the uncontrolled territories of Donbas in 2-2,5 years. This was announced by the Energy Minister of Ukraine Ihor Nasalyk on air of ICTV channel, reports Liga.net.

“We will be able to eliminate the dependence on anthracite coal mined in 2-2,5 years,” he said.

At the same time, basic generation – atomic - has already become independent from Russia, according to the Minister.

"As of today, we have diversified 40% of the fuel coming from a different company, instead of Russia," he said.

The possibility of energy import from Russia will not be considered no matter what, the Minister noted.

Earlier it was reported that anthracite coal left only for 40 days, according to UkrEnergo. Some stations have coal only for another 14 days, others - for 100 days.
