Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN has officially phrased Kyiv’s view on deploying UN peacekeepers to Donbas, having sent it to the UN Secretary-General, as the mission informs on Twitter.

”(We) have notified the UN Secretary-General and the President of the United Nations Security Council about the view of Ukraine on the UN peacekeeping mission on the militant-controlled territories,” the message says.

The document states that Ukraine objects to the presence of peacekeepers from Russia, due to its aggressive actions against Ukraine.

Previously, Russian leader Vladimir Putin stated that presence of UN peacekeepers in Donbas would help solve the conflict in eastern Ukraine; he charged the Foreign Ministry to develop the respective draft resolution to be considered by the UN Security Council.
