Ukraine is ranked 132 out of 155 countries in the World Happiness Report, according to the relevant document commissioned by UN and prepared by Sustainable Development Solutions Network. It is timed to the International Day of Happiness celebrated today, March 20.
The researchers took into account six factors: per capita GDP, life expectancy, social support in difficult situations, trust (in government), people’s freedom of decision regarding their life and generosity (evaluated in recent donations to charity).
The most generous country in the world appears to be Norway. Denmark is on the second place, then follow Iceland, Switzerland, Finland, Canada, New Zeland, Australia and Sweden. Russia is ranked 49th.
