Expanding the list of anti-Russian sanctions by Canada is an unfriendly step, which will have a relevant reaction.
This was stated by the Spokesman of the Russian diplomatic mission in Ottawa Kirill Kalinin, reports TASS.
"We express our deep disappointment in the decision of the Canadian government to once again extend the sanction list of Russian officials and parliamentarians. This will undoubtedly have a negative impact on the whole range of Russian-Canadian relations, which only recently started to establish" his agency cited.
"The Russian side will take into account this unfriendly step and react on the basis of reciprocity," Kalinin said.
Earlier it was reported that Canada expanded the list of persons subjected to sanctions on Russia's aggression in Ukraine for another 15 people. There are six so-called "State Duma deputies" among them who were elected in the occupied Crimea, elections of which Canada does not recognize.
