Deputy head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov was included to the "Current" section of the terrorists’ and extremists’ list on the website of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service under the number 5826.

This was reported by QHA edition.

"It looks really funny as Ilmi has an impeccable reputation among the Crimean people. But it is insulting that person in such a respectable age and while having a serious illness, is forced to go to questioning and pass humiliating examination. Moreover, the investigation on his criminal case is still pending, and the trial has not begun yet, but Ilmi Umerov is referred to as terrorist and extremist without the corresponding court decision. This is only possible in a totalitarian Russia, as in other civilized countries there is presumption of innocence," the newspaper writes.

Criminal case on Umerov was opened under Art. 280.1 of the Criminal Code for alleged call to actions on air of ATR that "threaten Russia's territorial integrity."

That is the explanation of yesterday's situation with the impossibility of paying the fine for allegedly appointed administrative offense. "Wait for at least the decision of their own court - no, we never heard that," Umerov’s daughter Ayshe Umerova wrote on Facebook. That is her comment on the father's surname presence in the Russian terrorist list.
