Ukrainian Navy Airplane An-26 was attacked today at 10:20 a.m. near Odesa gas field in Black Sea. This was reported on the Facebook page by the Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak.

Defense Minister specified that the attack was carried out from the drilling rigs, which were captured earlier by the Russian Federation, during the practice flight in the exclusive maritime zone of Ukraine near Odesa gas field.

One airplane was damaged as a result of the attack. The crew was not hurt, An-26 continued to fulfil the flight mission.

“Apart from that, the crew recorded and fixed the work of the Russian radar station in the active mode, which is usually used in missile-guidance of air defense systems,” Poltorak wrote.

After returning to the airfield, 3 centimeter bullet hole was found during the inspection of the aircraft, this was the result of the attack from small arms.
