A mass rally of several hundred people gathered at the building of the National Bank of Ukraine on Institutska street in the center of Kyiv, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
“At present the action has not yet started: people do not show any emblems, also there are no speakers and disclosure of requirements. The participants continue to arrive," the report says.
Near the National Bank there are a lot of police officers of the National Police and the National Guard. Also there are several tented KamAZ of law enforcement.
Law enforcement officers blocked the approaches to the building of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine at the intersection of Bankova and Instytutska streets, it is also reported.
The metal fence is set at the intersection of Bankova and Instytutska streets which blocked.
Near the exit of Khreshchatyk metro station there is a cordon of law enforcement officers and metal detectors are installed. At the same time people still go through the frames without a thorough examination on the part of law enforcement officers.
Earlier several applications for mass actions on Tuesday in the center of Kyiv were submitted to the Kyiv city State Administration. In particular the application for holding pickets and meetings regarding the protection of the rights of Khreshchatyk bank depositors were submitted, including those at the building of the National Bank of Ukraine. According to the organizers of these mass events participation of under 500 people is announced in this rally.
However, the number of the participants on the Constitution square in front of the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine increased to two hundred people. People unfolded banners reading: "Bankruptcy of banks - business of the presidential team," "No to tariffs raise" Give back Chernobyl pensions," "The new government robs in a new way," "Gontareva to jail", "Give back our investments". Also, protesters are holding the emblems of a number of banks, which have been recognized insolvent.
Near the parliament there are a lot of law enforcement officers from the National Guard of Ukraine. The situation is calm, no public order violations so far.
Earlier it was reported that Kyiv’s downtown is blocked by police due to the peaceful protests of the bank depositors and those protesting against the raise of social tariffs.
